Abstract

Population pressure on scarce resources makes the optimisation of industrial automation plants a matter of national importance. Model parameters are calibrated against field observations using PID tuning. An improvement of about 44% in performance was obtained by tuning three key parameters. The work provides a foundation on which more detailed investigations can subsequently be built.
