Abstract

Conventional design procedures for wind energy conversion systems often neglect the combined effects that govern thin-film deposition. Sample specimens were prepared and tested, and the resulting data analysed by computational fluid dynamics. The analysis identified a threshold beyond which a sharp rise in thin-film deposition is observed. The technique can be transferred readily to related problems in allied branches of engineering.
