Abstract
Rapid industrial growth in South Asia has intensified the demand for a better quantitative understanding of turbulent forced heat transfer. The response of offshore platforms is predicted using nonlinear optimisation and checked against the limited field data available. The proposed method converged within 8 iterations for every case considered. These results may inform the development of appropriate national standards and codes of practice.
