Abstract
Field failures observed in rural electrification networks have drawn renewed attention to the careful analysis of vapour-compression refrigeration. A mathematical model is formulated and solved by fast Fourier transforms for representative configurations of rural electrification networks. Agreement with the field data improved markedly, with residual errors under 29%. The findings should be of interest to both designers and operators concerned with reliability.
