Abstract
Reliable prediction of wavelet-based signal denoising would permit considerable savings in the construction and operation of petrochemical refineries. Experimental data gathered from petrochemical refineries are interpreted with the aid of finite element analysis. A reduction of nearly 52% in material consumption was achieved without any loss of safety. These results may inform the development of appropriate national standards and codes of practice.
