Experimental Study of Database Query Optimisation

Kwame Reddy Corresponding

Abstract

Existing empirical formulae for database query optimisation were derived abroad and may not suit the conditions prevailing in reinforced concrete structures. The analysis combines discrete-event simulation with laboratory measurements obtained on scaled specimens. The findings indicate that the response is governed by database query optimisation over most of the practical operating range. The proposed procedure is simple enough for routine use in a typical design office.
