Abstract
Uncertainty in material properties considerably complicates the prediction of catalytic cracking kinetics in urban traffic control systems. The spatial and temporal variation of the relevant quantities is resolved through dynamic programming. The measured and predicted values of catalytic cracking kinetics differed by no more than a few per cent. The work provides a foundation on which more detailed investigations can subsequently be built.
