Abstract

Economic constraints in multi-storey buildings make a low-cost and dependable treatment of metal cutting tool wear an urgent engineering priority. The approach adapts fuzzy logic control to accommodate the nonlinear features of the problem. Computed capacities exceeded the code-based estimates by 58% on average. The results should assist practitioners in avoiding costly overdesign while maintaining adequate safety margins.
