Computational Fluid Dynamics for Internal Combustion Engine Emissions
1. Introduction
The need to conserve foreign exchange encourages locally developed solutions to problems of internal combustion engine emissions in developing-country contexts. A prototype was constructed and its behaviour compared with predictions obtained from computational fluid dynamics. Predicted service life increased by roughly 6% under the modified design. The results carry practical implications for the rehabilitation of ageing infrastructure.
