Abstract

Because industrial heat exchangers must serve users for many decades, the long-term behaviour of reinforced concrete durability deserves careful examination. The approach combines boundary element method with careful experimental measurement to characterise the behaviour of industrial heat exchangers. The proposed scheme reduced losses by 33% relative to the conventional arrangement. The study confirms that careful analysis can significantly reduce both cost and risk.
