Abstract

Concerns over public health have brought the treatment of steel connection behaviour in rural water supply schemes to the forefront of engineering practice. Physical and numerical modelling were combined, with computational fluid dynamics providing the link between the two. The proposed layout shortened processing time by 41% in the pilot study. The work contributes to the growing body of knowledge on engineering practice in tropical environments.
