Abstract
Very few systematic studies of adaptive noise cancellation in highway bridges have been reported for the South Asian context. A series of controlled experiments was carried out to isolate the factors governing the response of highway bridges. Only 8 parameters were required to describe adaptive noise cancellation with acceptable precision over the working range. The conclusions carry clear implications for the maintenance strategies adopted by operators.
