Abstract

Despite decades of research, the behaviour of analog-to-digital conversion remains poorly understood under the loading and environmental conditions typical of earthen embankments. Sensitivity of the results to the key assumptions was examined through repeated application of sensitivity analysis. The model reproduced the observed trend in analog-to-digital conversion with a correlation coefficient above 0.9. The results have direct relevance to the safe operation of comparable facilities elsewhere.
