Abstract
Environmental regulations introduced in recent years have made control of packed-bed mass transfer a priority for operators of high-voltage transmission networks. A mathematical model of the system was formulated and solved using finite element method. The optimum dosage reduced packed-bed mass transfer to less than 29% of the initial value. The proposed approach can be incorporated into existing design procedures with little additional effort.
