Abstract

The high cost of imported materials makes the optimisation of feature extraction in tannery wastewater particularly attractive for local industry. The model was implemented in software and coupled with Kalman filtering to permit rapid parametric study. Optimisation improved overall efficiency by 60% without any increase in capital cost. The methodology is general and can readily be extended to related engineering problems.
