Abstract

Both academic and industrial interest in natural fibre reinforced composites have grown alongside the modernisation of offshore structures. The proposed model is calibrated using ant colony optimisation and tested on independent data sets. Agreement between simulation and measurement is found to be better than 46%. The results suggest that considerable improvement is possible within existing constraints.
