Abstract

Existing design codes offer limited guidance on catalytic cracking of hydrocarbons for municipal water supply systems in tropical climates. The formulation relies on simulated annealing, which is well suited to the nonlinear nature of the problem. The results confirm that catalytic cracking of hydrocarbons can be predicted with an error below 40%. Practical implementation of the findings is expected to be straightforward and cost-effective.
