Abstract
The increasing demand placed on off-grid solar installations has renewed interest in the study of internal combustion engine emissions. A mathematical model is developed and solved using Laplace transform methods to capture the essential features of the problem. Peak values of internal combustion engine emissions are reduced by roughly 48% relative to the unmodified system. The insights gained may inform policy as well as engineering practice.
