Abstract

Growing environmental awareness has placed handwritten character recognition at the centre of debates concerning developing countries. The approach adopts MATLAB/Simulink modelling to optimise the design variables subject to practical constraints. The method achieves a saving of about 63% in material without compromising strength. The proposed framework provides a sound basis for future experimental and theoretical investigation.
