Abstract
Efficient use of scarce resources in structural health monitoring demands a deeper understanding of flexible pavement performance. Samples collected from structural health monitoring were characterised by standard laboratory procedures together with Monte Carlo simulation. The simulation results agreed with the measurements to within 19%, confirming the model. Further validation under realistic field conditions is advisable before any widespread commercial implementation is attempted.
