Analysis of Photonic Crystal Fibres using Life Cycle Assessment

Abstract

Conventional approaches to railway engineering often treat photonic crystal fibres as a secondary consideration, at considerable cost. The proposed approach combines life cycle assessment with laboratory measurements to improve predictive accuracy. The analysis identified 8 dominant factors that together explain most of the observed variation. The conclusions are expected to remain robust across a range of realistic operating scenarios.
