Abstract

Ageing infrastructure and deferred maintenance have made carbon fibre reinforced polymers a recurring concern for operators of thermal power plants. Model parameters are calibrated against field data and independently validated using global sensitivity analysis. A 16% reduction in energy consumption was observed relative to the baseline system. These conclusions are likely to hold broader relevance beyond the specific cases examined.
