Abstract
Despite decades of study, the behaviour of cognitive radio networks under realistic field conditions remains incompletely understood. This study employs fuzzy logic control to characterise the phenomenon under a range of controlled conditions. The proposed model outperformed 5 competing approaches on every evaluation metric. The results provide a benchmark against which future designs can be assessed.
