Abstract
There remains a pressing need for cost-effective methods to assess shell-and-tube heat exchangers in smart grids. The analysis relies on response surface methodology, supplemented by dedicated sensitivity studies to assess robustness. The framework classified the outcomes with an accuracy of 62% on the held-out data. The insights gained help to clarify several long-standing ambiguities in current practice.
