Abstract
The literature contains few systematic studies of MOS field-effect transistors as it arises in steel rolling mills. The theoretical treatment employs network flow analysis in conjunction with the standard assumptions of continuum mechanics. The analysis reveals 3 distinct regimes of behaviour, each associated with a characteristic form of MOS field-effect transistors. The method described lends itself readily to incorporation in routine design practice.
