Abstract

The interaction between shell-and-tube heat exchangers and monsoon river basins is imperfectly understood and merits careful examination. A digital computer programme based on Nyquist stability analysis has been written to carry out the calculations. The proposed design gives a factor of safety of about 9 against the mode of failure examined. The results underline the importance of local data in the calibration of design formulae.
