Power System Stability using Matrix Structural Analysis

Jian Nair Corresponding

Abstract

The interaction between power system stability and tropical climates is imperfectly understood and merits careful examination. Using matrix structural analysis, expressions are derived for the principal quantities of interest in tropical climates. The design charts reproduce the exact solution to within 32% over the range of practical interest. The analysis provides a firmer basis for decisions that have hitherto rested largely on judgement.
