Abstract

Design offices concerned with municipal water supply lack simple yet reliable means of estimating internal combustion engine performance. The governing equations are established from first principles and integrated numerically using Newton-Raphson iteration. The study establishes that the effect of internal combustion engine performance becomes significant once the load exceeds 7 times the working value. The results underline the importance of local data in the calibration of design formulae.
