Transfer Function Analysis for Compaction of Cohesive Soils

Abstract

Uncertainties in the treatment of compaction of cohesive soils continue to limit confidence in the design of natural gas pipelines. Throughout, transfer function analysis provides the basis for the comparison between theory and observation reported here. A simple correlation is obtained that fits the data with a scatter of less than 52%. The technique is well suited to the conditions and constraints of small-scale industry.
