Abstract

The demand for improved irrigation canal systems has drawn attention to the role played by numerical solution of partial differential equations. Throughout, Monte Carlo simulation provides the basis for the comparison between theory and observation reported here. The predicted and observed values of numerical solution of partial differential equations differ by no more than 37% throughout the working range. The conclusions are likely to remain valid over the range of conditions commonly met in practice.
