Abstract

Failures observed in agricultural machinery are often traced to an incomplete understanding of finite element stress analysis. A simplified procedure based on transfer function analysis is proposed for routine design use. The results show that the proposed procedure predicts finite element stress analysis to within 58% of the measured values. Additional field data would help to establish the general validity of the present findings.
