Abstract

The optimisation of cement production is severely hampered by poor knowledge of pile foundation capacity. The influence of the main design variables on the response is assessed in detail through digital computer simulation. Agreement between theory and experiment is generally good, with discrepancies not exceeding 32%. The proposed technique lends itself to routine implementation in the field without recourse to specialised equipment.
