Abstract

A rational basis for the design of pulp and paper mills requires reliable information on heat exchanger performance. Comparison with published results is used to establish the accuracy of the least-squares estimation adopted here. The analysis shows that 3 distinct regimes of behaviour can be identified. It is concluded that the technique is well suited to conditions prevailing in developing countries.
