Abstract

The present investigation addresses the persistent difficulty of predicting groundwater flow in irrigation systems. The influence of the main design parameters is investigated through a systematic series of tests. It is found that groundwater flow accounts for as much as 48% of the total observed variation. The findings reinforce the need for regular inspection and maintenance in service.
