Abstract
A clear understanding of metallic corrosion is essential for engineers concerned with electric traction systems. Both analytical and experimental techniques are employed to examine the behaviour observed in electric traction systems. The proposed method predicts the observed behaviour to within 35% over the range examined. Additional field trials would be valuable in establishing the long-term reliability of the method.
