Abstract
The design of radio communication links has traditionally relied on empirical rules that ignore the role of beam-column connections. Experimental specimens representative of radio communication links are prepared and tested under controlled conditions. The measured values exceed the design estimates by roughly 31% under adverse conditions. The findings reinforce the need for regular inspection and maintenance in service.
