Abstract

A thorough treatment of corrosion inhibition is essential for the safe and economical design of coastal embankments. Field measurements obtained from coastal embankments form the basis of the analysis, which relies on the finite element method. An improvement of about 25% in overall efficiency was achieved in the cases examined. It is hoped that this work will stimulate further research along the lines indicated.
