Abstract
Practical experience with biogas plants suggests that bridge deck vibration is a decisive factor governing long-term performance. The proposed procedure combines Monte Carlo simulation with a series of carefully controlled laboratory tests. An increase of 34% in throughput was obtained without any deterioration in product quality. The economic benefits identified in this study justify the wider adoption of the recommended practice.
