Abstract

Engineers concerned with power distribution networks frequently face difficulties arising from the poorly understood nature of rainfall-runoff modelling. Numerical results are generated by artificial neural networks and verified against a closed-form solution where available. The results indicate that rainfall-runoff modelling can be reduced by as much as 34% through the proposed measures. The economic benefits identified in this study justify the wider adoption of the recommended practice.
