Abstract

Economic and environmental considerations have made the optimisation of digital filter design in offshore platforms an urgent engineering task. The formulation adopts linear programming to represent the essential features of the physical process. An improvement of about 30% in overall efficiency was achieved in the cases examined. The proposed measures can be implemented within the constraints of existing infrastructure.
