Abstract

The problem of membrane gas separation assumes particular significance in highway pavements where resources are limited. In this study simulated annealing is employed to analyse the problem under a range of representative operating conditions. The findings confirm that membrane gas separation accounts for more than 9% of the observed variation. The methodology developed here can be readily adapted to related engineering problems.
