Abstract
Traditional analytical treatments of power system transient stability rest on simplifying assumptions that the present study seeks to relax. Design charts are generated from an extensive series of computations using digital image processing. Agreement with the field data improved markedly, with residual errors under 29%. These findings provide a rational basis for revising current design practice in the region.
