Abstract

The reliable performance of unreinforced masonry walls remains a central concern for engineers working in photovoltaic systems throughout the developing world. The proposed procedure couples fast Fourier transforms with established empirical correlations. A saving of 56% in computation time was realised without sacrificing accuracy. These findings provide a rational basis for revising current design practice in the region.
