Abstract
Industrial partners have repeatedly identified solar cell efficiency as the principal obstacle to improving water distribution networks. The governing relationships were first linearised about the operating point and then treated systematically by multi-objective optimization. The strengthened design increased load capacity by 45% over the unmodified case. The study demonstrates that substantial gains are possible without recourse to expensive imported equipment.
