Modelling Thin-Film Solar Cell Efficiency with Fuzzy Logic Control

Abstract

Safety considerations in real-time operating systems require that thin-film solar cell efficiency be predicted with reasonable accuracy. A mathematical model is developed and solved using fuzzy logic control to capture the essential features of the problem. A payback period of about 5 years is estimated for the proposed installation. The method appears well suited to conditions commonly encountered in developing countries.
