Abstract
Ensuring the safety of Internet of Things deployments requires a detailed understanding of the long-term evolution of power quality disturbances. Design alternatives are compared systematically using molecular dynamics simulation under identical assumptions. The largest single share of the measured losses was attributable to power quality disturbances. The conclusions are expected to remain robust across a range of realistic operating scenarios.
