Towards Flat-Plate Solar Collectors

Abstract

Limited foreign exchange makes the local optimisation of flat-plate solar collectors particularly attractive for irrigation systems. The governing differential equations are discretised and solved by Monte Carlo simulation on a microcomputer. Only 2 of the parameters examined are found to exert a significant influence. These findings provide a rational basis for the improved design of similar systems.
